The Last Leaf

The Last Leaf
Date: ?

On the branch where she cling,
Alone.
Soon it’ll wither.
Soon she’ll leave.
She’ll touch the ground.
Coz summer had gone fast.
Autumn will soon be over.
But there she holds.
Tightly.
With vanishing hopes,
She clings.
Her lover still lives.
As long as she keeps holding
But soon she’ll fall.
Like those before her.

Spring came.
She’s weak.
One more day with him,
A dying wish!
The branch where she clings
Gave birth to new lives.
New hopes.
Sprouting.
Loving.
But still she clings.
Coz she can’t let go.
Simply because,
She loves him.

But he asks her to let go.
Coz he had more to replace her.
She never cried.
She never will.
And on the night of her departure,
She simply let go.
Silently.
Without tears.
Without guilt.
Cradled by the breeze,
It laid her untouched.
As she touch the ground.
She uttered her goodbye.
To him.
To life.
To love.
