K is for Karma

K is for Karma

Sonnet 11
06/15/11

“Cant you hear? I love you not!” and then he left.
Leaving a lone soul shattered by what he said.
He is a great player, a master hearts theft.
Leaving them broken after he got them laid.

And so this proud man had found another one.
With his best smile, he captured her with his charm.
She smiles back, Alas! His good game has been done.
Yes he believes…he’s a gift that meant no harm.

So he played his moves, singing his favorite song.
Of fake promises…melodies of sweet lies.
But then he fell in love in his prey, he long…
To know, if it’s love too…he saw through her eyes.

With a voice so beautiful and true she said,
“Can’t you hear? I love you not!” and then she left.

J is for Jealousy

J is for Jealousy
Sonnet 10
06/15/11

It’s not a negative thing they say, it shows
That one is capable of loving and of
Feeling the pain and the bitterness that grows
Beyond self’s sanity, deep within one’s cove.
It can kill one’s being and eats one self whole.
Isn’t that the idea of human nature?
It’s instinct to give his heart a silent lull.
Using the reasons of jealousy’s demure.
What right a man must have to sow this poison?
To feed with doubts and with lies then reap its wrath.
Evil it may be or is it loves’s reason?
And swallow it whole, a dagger to the heart.
[If] It hears no reason, so be it ‘till last breath.
But jealousy is a curse no man can escape.

Sonnet

Alone, looking out through windowpanes;
Lulling the pain that creeping inside.
For the coldness of the tearing rain;
Cracked every tear I’m trying to hide.
Left all alone with a haunted heart;
Fearing the ghost of our lonely pasts:
In the love where we both played our parts,
The love we both thought will never last.
In the long run you heard another call.
Left with me the love you once promised.
To endure the pain, a deathly falls.
I’ve to fake a bleeding heart with bliss.
I’m alone, empty, hallow and vain.
Scared, twisted, dead and living in pain.

Investing my love to uncertainty
A game of my responsibility
Taking the risks though my feeling’s in doubt.
A one sided love or a love without.
Loving someone coz you need him, differed.
From you need someone because you love him.
But neither of the two my heart preferred.
Because hope to be loved back can’t be seen.
Playing a game where vict’ry is in vain.
It’s like gripping your heart – tight in pain.
I’ve known from the very start I’d lose.
Drained, battered and everything is in fused.
This game I play, I’ve no plan to recall.
‘cause I’ve mastered the pain before I fall.

"F” is for Forgiveness

"F” is for Forgiveness

January 23, 2007
sonnet

I came back to the place I detest.
With me was the flame of my revenge.
Though my heart’s beating on its protest,
My brain’s screaming in offending wrench.
I was met by a nauseous façade.
Had been kissed by the necrotic fog,
The acidic eddy caught my dodge.
And the gloomy mountains gave the hug.
Standing here on this fetid fortress,
Before me, the sea looked back in daze.
Strange! Coz I felt love and happiness.
And my vindications lost on this maze.
My eyes blurred by tears, here’s my revenge.
Heart’s forgiveness, in love I’ve been drenched.

'E' is for Elegy

“E” is for Elegy
October 26 2006; 6:45pm
sonnet
glenmore bacarro

I’ve been deceived by your fairy tales.

Believing deceptions and great lies.

Coz the love we’ve made now seems to fail.

When you sung your last words of goodbye!

Why now? When our story lives to soar?

Time I thought we owned thus we won’t fall.

Did I give too less or bit too more?

Or just that you’ve heard another call?

In your fairy tales is she the one?

Was she your light beyond deception?

And if the love once ours had been gone.

At least tell me I won’t be alone.

If love died, let my heart be buried.

With my elegy where mem’ries hid.

'D' is for Delusion

“D” is for Delusion
May 27, 2006
sonnet
glenmore bacarro

I asked the Lord to give me the love I long.

Before every night I go to sleep and dream.

In my dreams you’ll come and render a song.

And together we’ll dance as you gently sing.

In every night when the Lord gave you to me,

Distance between us was just a step behind.

Coz in every dream we crossed reality.

In delusion there were you for me to find.

Oh! Love was not for us to have and to hold.

Coz it was forbade by time and of by chance.

There in my dreams, for us, love had been foretold.

Defied by no time, no chance and no distance!

If only in dreams we can be together.

Tonight I prayed to let me sleep forever.

'C' is for Candor

“C” is for Candor
April 22, 2006
sonnet
glenmore bacarro

I met a man who lived from the land of Candor.

He’s a son of candidness, heir of tactlessness.

He was known for his braveness, honor and valor.

And he was loved for his tongue and words of frankness.

I looked at the man I adore, the prince I’ve told.

He scowled at me *“nikkuttak ku so’ya” said he.

The curse of his tongue, his words crept my soul to fold.

The prince of Candor defeated my heart to bleed.

He smiled for every teardrop that fell down my cheeks.

Revealing fangs of love, I’d dared to have – to hold.

For my every shame, he laughed, for my fame he smirked.

And showed the eyes of evil with anger - too bold.

And this is my story of the man from Candor.

The man who hurt me and the prince I adore.

 *“nikkuttak ku so’ya”
ibanag line (dialect from the North) which means "Sipain ko pa yan [eh]" / "I would have kicked [him]"

'B' is for Betrayal

“B” is for Betrayal
glenmore bacarro
041306&041406
sonnet 2

Your lips can lie, your eyes can deceive, but your heart cannot.

Words can be sweet, senses may fail, but the feelings can’t hide.

You shall not kiss me, if you cannot stay – if cannot, but

Let my heart be yours, my body; my soul where love abide.

If I cannot take your love in return, give me my home.

If you won’t belong, you can’t stay, teach me before be gone.

But if you can’t give me home, let my heart be yours alone.

You can live with her, betray my heart but don’t leave me one.

I will take the pain, blame me – blame the love that once we’ve shared.

For that love binds us and I can’t free myself, or freed thee.

We may live together not in flame, not in desire, but

To be in one, in maybe love, but never to be we!

Maybe I’m the only one believing the love I doubt.

But I’d rather live in, with betrayal  than love without.

"A" is for Alibi

A is for Alibi
Sonnet01
040806
by glenmore bacarro

I asked thee how much you love me.
You gave me a smile and a wink.
My heartbeat put me on the brink,
In your eyes the love I can’t see.

And for tonight I’ll dream of we,
I won’t loose you, I dare not blink.
Just beside you I dare to shrink.
These only shows, much I love thee.

Though after this night I’ll let go,
Give me this time to feel you breath.
For tomorrow I’ll tell a lie,

You’ll wake up, I’d taken the blow.
Just leave, I won’t be there to weep.
For I made you, your alibi.
