White Roses

White Roses
07-18-05 & 07-21-05
10:00am&08:28pm

You bid me now to strike my last song.
Coz I kept myself mute for so log.
Now given the chance and bid my last goodbye.
Coz I was born and destined to die.
Here I am laying my last farewell,
Of the last memoir of my day!

Blood of life flows out from my veins
Leaving me drowned with agony and pain.
Remember those white roses clinging?
In the garden of my life their living,
As these bloody liquid stained my memory.
Those roses turn to crimson red.

My Muse! Mother, here you are crying so hard.
And in thy hands I saw not the gambling cards.
I saw the love in thy lonely face.
But now I bid you to lay my last ace.
My bedtime stories, childhood days I long.
Mother, did the mouse chase the lion?

My King! Father here thy servant.
Sorry if for once I’ll break your commands.
With you tears, I saw not the wine but,
I bid you now to gulp my last shot.
Your untouched stick for times I feared.
Here it kept waiting for me to be punished.

My Confidant! Sister I’m leaving you.
Maybe for sometimes I had broken your heart.
Your dark lonely eyes always had been sad.
To see me in throne that would make you glad.
But now the throne is shaking the king is gone.
Sister, from this day on I’m His servant.

My greatest foe, only brother I’ve got.
We’re always in brawl and have the line to cut.
But I’ve never kept any grudges or wrath.
Coz I know every brawl will end to hug.
Now I’m leaving you I’ll miss those smiles.
From thy lips my guidance upon I fly.

My beloved your name I bear.
That once caused me too much tears.
The love I longed gave nothing but pain.
Pain that leads me to another love’s flame
Farewell my love, once true love.
Hope no tears will fall s I’ll be gone.

Best of friends my brother I lost.
Memories of the past, wealth of no cost
Though sometimes we lived in fancies and doubt
For once we shared the arms of someone we both loved.
Eventhough we traveled using different codes.
Destiny’s always lead us to one same cross road.

Friends the old and the new,
Your tears, memories of endless dew
You laughed even on my silliest jokes.
And admired even my senseless thoughts
I’ll leave but never will I be gone.
Memories stay even this tired body was done.

Fellow! Let my body be burnt to the tongue of fire.
Let it tear my cold body leaving those lustful desires.
Strike the lire when my flesh turns to ash.
Sing my lyrics as memories flash.
Cry no more near I’ll be at peace.
As I gently wheeze my final kiss.

With your hand on the polished jar,
Take my ash and blow it afar.
Let it feel the gentle eastern breeze.
And let the sea water to kiss.
Let me feel the warmth of the glowing sun.
Hugged the gleaming moon before will I be gone.

When thy crimson flowers wither and die.
Take my ash and let it kiss where it lie.
And tomorrow there I’ll spring to life.
In my garden there I’ll grow wild.
For these roses once watered by blood.
Someday again they’ll grow in radiant white.

The Masterpiece

The Masterpiece

The tale had come to its epilogue.
The epic’s now loosing its rhyme.
The poet was caught by his thought.
His art had committed a crime.

He made her perfect, filled her with grace.
And mould her beyond flawless mistakes.
Beaded with charms, polished with care
But she left him in great despair.

She left her master with broken soul.
She - the symbol of lust now she soars.
She’ll live in betrayal and grudge.
And her master was clothed with crimson wrath.

The Magdalene

The Magdalene
1106&2309

Your beauty concealed by the red veil.
So as the name was stained by sins.
You deemed forgiveness, tears you shed.
But long had been forgiven by your own faith

People doubted your purity.
Had been marked throughout history
Woman they may never know.
How much in you their pasts owed.

You were painted with bold lust.
Mocked by the pens that tinted you
Few can see the love you trust.
And the sacrifices you went through.

Many condemned you without mercy.
Believing what they thought were true.
For history books even denied you.
Adoring you; we are few.

Woman! Picture of a sinful dream
Part of you hallowed the other mocked.
Hatred kissed you, innocence concealed.
They fear your beauty, your voice unheard.

Who was she who begged forgiveness?
Who was she who cried repentance?
Who was she who clung to her faith?
Woman it’s you, but they knew no more.

Who was she who kept her promise?
Who was she who humbled herself?
Who was she who kept no hatred?
Woman it’s you, but they regard less.

Forgive me for in beauty I am blinded.
Grant me grace for in sin I am jailed.
Veil me your red tulle so that I’ll be forgiven.
Woman with your love lead me to Him.

Heaven had given you your special throne.
With the Father; the Son and the Virgin without sin
Together w/ the saints & the angels who sing.
Woman They knew that you’re more than pure.

The Last Leaf

The Last Leaf
Date: ?

On the branch where she cling,
Alone.
Soon it’ll wither.
Soon she’ll leave.
She’ll touch the ground.
Coz summer had gone fast.
Autumn will soon be over.
But there she holds.
Tightly.
With vanishing hopes,
She clings.
Her lover still lives.
As long as she keeps holding
But soon she’ll fall.
Like those before her.

Spring came.
She’s weak.
One more day with him,
A dying wish!
The branch where she clings
Gave birth to new lives.
New hopes.
Sprouting.
Loving.
But still she clings.
Coz she can’t let go.
Simply because,
She loves him.

But he asks her to let go.
Coz he had more to replace her.
She never cried.
She never will.
And on the night of her departure,
She simply let go.
Silently.
Without tears.
Without guilt.
Cradled by the breeze,
It laid her untouched.
As she touch the ground.
She uttered her goodbye.
To him.
To life.
To love.

The Fallen Vestal

The Fallen Vestal
1103&0509

You were born selected.
Your first cry was your first protest.
But fair you were created.
To be envied and to be praised!
They put you up high.
They honor your words.
They gave you possessions.
A lady they adore!
You’re a woman of power.
As long as you keep your vow!
For if you are to break.
You’ll be kissing hatred!
You vow loyalty to your Goddess.
The first rule you cannot detest.
For She gave you your honor.
And in her anger you are spared.
The second is to keep the torches burning.
To give light to her hallowed temple.
Like you with your heart in darkness.
The light of hope is all you have.
And the final rule for you to keep.
A celibate life and your vow of chastity!
That when love knocks on your door.
Shed tears and never to answer its call.

You sacrificed too much.
But your beauty remains unscratched.
Oh Fair Lady! You may regret not!
But inside you a heart that needs love.
Yes! You can do nothing.
Because you were chosen!
If you are to break the third rule,
Which your heart desired,
They will not only chastise you.
But it’ll cost you your honored life.
They will punish to death infront of you.
The man whom you loved!
You may be insulted in hatred.
But nothing compares the heart in pain.
And soon you will face too.
Same fate as those before you!
They may never touch your beauty.
But they will deny you dignity.

You are alone in the darkness.
Stench stones surround you.
You can smell its emptiness.
Because you breaths won’t leave you!
A loaf of bread,
From the luxury you once have.
An oil lamp,
From the torches you once burnt.
Soon when nothings left,
In the darkness you’ll starve to death!
Perhaps it’s an irony.
For you to be buried alive!
Alone in your dark cold tomb,
Before life leave, memory creeps.
Like so many before you.
Who offered their lives.
For a moment bliss!
That love is the only way to live.
And that death occurs.
The moment fate denies you love.

Starry, Starry Night

Starry, Starry Night

010206

I stood here looking at the velvet sky.
Wondrin’ how people waste some great love.
For so many reason many are hurt.
Why do lovers break their heart?

Before me I looked at the Orion.
Wondrin’ how he’d brushed the night.
How the colors held the love I long.
How its solitary light shone.

‘Starry, Starry Night’ you possessed the charm.
Whoever looked at you shares your longing.
On your dark colors there lies the light.
The hope, your creator never found.

Now I know why they break their heart.
It’s the mystery for you to find.
For why Vincent took his own life.
The answer lies beneath his canvass.

I Wonder Why

I made this poem in memory of “Garcel”, a friend’s sister.
Died: March 15, 2006
I gave this piece to the bereaved family before the funerals.

“It is only after the death of ones parents that one is free to die.”
-Sigmund Freud

I Wonder Why
March 16, 2006

Nine months I carried you.
A cross weighed on my womb.
I did my best to protect you from harm.
And I warmed you from the freezing cold.
You slept whenever I caress you then.
And sob too, whenever I cried.
Coz God gave us only one breath.
And shared a life I live.
*
I cried in pain when I pushed you out.
To let you know that there is another world to see.
A world where you can be alone,
The world of bliss.
When the cut the string
That connects you from me…
Me from you.
Daughter from this day on…
You are free.
*
I saw you smiled, talked,
Cried and walked.
I saw you laughed, run,
Trembled and fell down.
And I felt too your breath.
Everytime I lead you to bed.
But now years had passed.
My daughter,
A lovely woman you’d become.
You resist my kisses.
Whenever your friends are around.
And suppress your ego,
Whenever I called you child.
But I worried not.
Coz I knew you loved me.
And been proud for whatever I’d been.
*
But I wonder why?
Daughter, my fair.
With all the beauty and love we shared.
Why took thy life and left me shattered?
Alone in tears and in guilt,
Why you left earlier than me?
Pain left on my bleeding heart.
To bid you goodbye I cannot bear.
As you soar high to meet Him.
Just fallow the queue.
For heaven may claim my soul too.
I, a mother wondered why?
***
Maybe I came too late.
To show how much I care.
I never saw you walked or run.
Neither heard your first talk nor your first cry.
But how lucky have I been.
Coz you accepted me in your heart.
More than I could wish for.
I gave the love I knew you longed.
Protect you from bruises and brawls.
We’ve been happy, always in laughter.
Many chances came.
And time for us to share.
We made memories of a day,
To be cherished.
To be hailed.
But I wonder why?
My fairest daughter,
You left without goodbye.
As the breeze caught my breath,
I’ll touch thee with a smile.
This will be the last, I know.
And as I uttered my last goodbye,
beyond the distant sky.
I, a father wondered why?
***
You’re my first foe.
You’re my first competitor.
You’re my first enemy.
And you’re my first friend as well.
With you, the first brawl.
With you, the first tears.
With you, the first pain.
And with you, the first hug as well.
*
We’ve through thick and thin.
Your does are my don’ts.
Your likes are my dislikes.
But dear your glory is mine too.
We’ve been through goodness
and much of bitterness.
We laughed through each other’s tears.
We wept through each other’s joys.
We always say sorry after every brawl.
Both accepting the fault,
Then argue…
Again.
Then we laughed after one denied the fact.
But I wonder why?
Sister, my little confidant,
You left us all so soon.
Though we knew,
That it’s only after the death of ones parents,
That one is free to die.
But why you left without permission?
I, a sister wondered why?

I Killed My Father

I Killed My Father

032306

I was caught red handedly.
Coz I kissed the wrath of me.
You wonder who’s this man might be.
Well…I called him Daddy.

I remember when…
I asked him to carry me.
After every childhood’s brawls,
He bothers not to put down his glass.
Or cure my bruises and clean up my blood.
He scowled everytime I shouted with joy.
Woke me up jolting with fear I dared avoid.
He whipped me when I tried to answer back.
And he whipped me more whenever I cried.
That’s why I killed him.

Tonight I’m bathed with his crimson blood.
His memories I burnt and stab to death.
From this day on I may live with him.
But with his memories, I’m not.

Cleopatra

Cleopatra
112909
glenmore bacarro

You’re the beauty men ever saw.
Stood out from the desert’s hidden foes
You captured the hearts of those bravest men.
And crumpled them with unbailable shame

You had the power many envied
But nothing compares to the love you bid.
For you, dear maiden only true love rules
Beyond wealth, beyond power, the greatest fool!

They may never know how much you gave.
To save the kingdom on hands at stake
Without tears you’re blinded by the desert’s sun
Left broken by the love that had been gone.

Oh Lady! There’s sadness in your eyes.
Your heart bleeds yet your beauty smiles.
Uttering the name, the love, yet you never cry.
And on the cursed jar, you drank the serpent’s lies.

done...

"Since I have been so quickly done for
I wonder what I was begun for."
